Treatments
We provide personalised consultations about your skin health treatments. Below are some commonly asked treatment questions and answers that may help.
-
Due to the high-tech nature of our treatments, we need to carry out a one-on-one consultation and a patch test for your safety and to ensure that you are suitable for laser treatments.
-
All first-time clients must undergo a consultation with our advanced laser therapist, who will assess your skin, address your concerns, and discuss your lifestyle to develop a bespoke treatment plan. For hair removal your sessions will be planned based on your hair growth cycle and target areas. We do not offer virtual consultations, as in-person assessments are crucial to accurately assess your skin.
The consultation lasts approximately 30 minutes and includes a patch test.
-
A patch test is a legal requirement at least 24 hours before your first laser treatment to check for adverse reactions. It helps determine skin suitability and ensures the correct settings for optimal results.
-
Before your treatment, please follow these guidelines to ensure the best results:
Avoid direct sun exposure and self-tanning products for at least 14 days before your session.
Discontinue the use of retinoids, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other chemical exfoliants for 3–5 days prior to treatment.
Do not receive chemical peels or microdermabrasion in the treatment area before your session.
Wait 24 hours after dermaplaning before coming in for treatment.
If you use prescription skincare, please consult with us regarding temporary discontinuation.
Arrive with the treatment area clean and free of makeup.
-
Avoid direct sun exposure—including tanning beds and self-tanning products—on the treatment area for at least 14 days before your session.
Shave the area 24 hours prior to your appointment using a clean, sharp razor. Avoid electric razors, as they can leave the hair too long.
On the day of treatment, ensure the skin is clean and free of lotions, oils, deodorants, or makeup, as these can interfere with the laser’s effectiveness.
Gently exfoliate the area 2–3 days before your appointment to remove dead skin cells and improve laser absorption.
Avoid waxing, plucking, or using hair removal creams for at least 4 weeks before treatment, as these remove the hair from the follicle needed for the laser to work.
Wear loose, breathable clothing over the treated area to prevent irritation.
-
Laser treatment is a straightforward and comfortable procedure. The technician will mark the treatment area, apply a cooling gel (if needed), and begin the laser procedure. You may feel a warm sensation as the laser energy selectively heats targeted areas in the skin. Although some people feel mild discomfort, it’s often compared to a rubber band snapping against the skin.
-
Treatments typically take 15-60 minutes depending on the condition you want to be addressed and the treatment area size.
-
The number of treatment sessions vary by individual and condition. A customised plan will be discussed during your first visit. Refer to specific treatments for additional guidelines.
-
There is no downtime after our laser treatments. You may experience mild warming during the procedure and slight redness afterward, which typically fades within hours. You can resume normal activities immediately, but we recommend using sunscreen with SPF 30+ for 14 days post-treatment. Your laser therapist will provide detailed aftercare instructions.
-
Laser hair removal offers long-term hair reduction, we use the most advanced triple-wavelength technology to cause lasting damage to hair follicles, significantly reducing regrowth over time. While many follicles are permanently disabled, some may recover, resulting in finer and lighter hair. The treatment works by delivering precise light pulses that target and heat the hair follicles to prevent future growth. Because hair grows in different cycles and the laser can only treat follicles in their active phase, a series of six to ten sessions is usually required to achieve optimal results, leaving the skin smoother and softer with long-lasting reduction.
Technology
-
Our lasers are FDA-approved to effectively treat over 35 skin conditions, including rosacea, scarring, acne, hyperpigmentation, thread veins, and unwanted hair. It also combats signs of premature aging, minimises skin imperfections, boosts elasticity, and improves overall skin quality by smoothing lumps and bumps, among many other benefits.
-
Laser technology is safe when appropriate settings are used for each skin type, and treatments are performed by a certified professional with an NVQ/ VTCT Level 4 qualification in laser and IPL treatments. Advances in laser technology have improved safety features, making it crucial to select a laser clinic that regularly services and maintains its equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
-
Everyone’s skin is unique and reacts differently to treatments. Some may notice immediate results, while others see gradual improvements that appear over time. Most people typically observe noticeable results after three treatments, with enhanced skin quality after each subsequent session.
-
Skin ages continuously, so after achieving desired results, the time between sessions varies based on genetics, sun exposure, and lifestyle. To maintain results, it’s advisable to have maintenance treatments every six months, wear sunscreen daily, and follow a skincare regimen. Our registered clinical dietitian offers personalised dietary and lifestyle advice at no extra cost during your treatment.
-
Before receiving treatment, you must complete a full medical history form as part of the clinic’s registration process. This helps us review any medical conditions or medications that could contraindicate certain treatments. Your health and well-being are our priority.
-
Laser treatment poses no known risks during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but many physicians advise against it due to increased skin sensitivity during this time. To avoid any potential risks, it's recommended to postpone laser treatments until after delivery and breastfeeding.
-
We treat young adults aged 14 to 17 with a specialised laser treatment called NeoClear. This laser targets vessels that feed sebaceous glands, reducing excess oil and preventing breakouts. It also promotes collagen production, improving acne scars, skin appearance, and pore size. If they are on photo-sensitizing medications like Accutane they should consult their dermatologist before treatment.
Young adults must be accompanied by an adult or guardian and undergo a patch test 48 hours prior to treatment.
